AIRBNB IS THE NEW RESORT.

HERE ARE 10 REASONS WE THINK SO…

Have you ever heard of Airbnb? If you haven’t you just might be living under a rock.

Seriously, you’re not living under a rock, are you? I can call for help if so. Just let me know.

Airbnb is currently the world’s biggest accommodation-sharing site. It’s an online marketplace that allows people to rent out their properties or spare rooms to guests.

Think of Airbnb like Amazon. It’s a platform that connects providers (sellers) with interested customers.

Airbnb takes 3% commission of every booking from hosts, and between 6% and 12% from guests.

Do people use Airbnb?

How do they use it?

Do they enjoy it?

Check out some of these Airbnb statistics.

  • 61% of people chose Airbnb as a substitute to a budget or mid-range hotel.

  • 26%  indicated that staying with Airbnb led them to increase the length of their trip.

  • 70% stayed in an “entire home” rather than in “shared accommodation” together with a host.

  • 89% were “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their most recent Airbnb stay, and 91 percent were “likely” or “very likely” to recommend Airbnb to others.

  • 62% indicated they were “very likely” to use Airbnb again within the following year, compared to just 26 percent who indicated it was “very likely” they book a hotel room within the following year.

Here are the top 10 reasons why booking through Airbnb is better than a resort.

1)  Great way to save money when traveling

The main reason for you to choose Airbnb is the  price. It is easy to find much larger rooms – even luxurious rooms – in Airbnb accommodations that go for much less than the price of a nearby resort.

2) Strategic Location

Most of the time, it’s possible to get a rental close to the town centre where resorts may not be located. And you won’t pay the premium that resorts sometimes pass on to their guests.

3) Flexibility

Hosts are flexible with check-in and check-out. Instead of worrying about strict check-in and check-out times that might interfere with your routine, or force you out of your rooms too early, make arrangements that suits you and your host.

4) Pet Friendly

It is possible to find a dog and cat accommodations which let you bring your four-legged friends.

You can often find nearby activities for dogs, such as hiking, biking, sledding, and cross-country skiing.

5) Lovely Atmosphere

Travellers can feel at home, living fantastic social experiences with hosts. They often mix their different cultures and share customs and traditions. This is the best way to create a sincere friendship which can broaden your horizons.
